February Club

Sorry about the delay in posting this month's club, I honestly was thinking that I had already posted. I think the first Saturday of the month has got me a little off.

Jan has sent around a sign up for people to bring the refreshment. There are still several spots open if you would like to help.
This month's UFO went to me(now what project to finish up)

Now onto the fun part of club. Jan showed us how easy it is to do cut work.
This is a free design from S Embroidery If you need a tutorial one can be found HERE

This is a bag she made using cut work. The design is free from HERE. Jan says, "Hoop fabric and dissolvable stabilizer. Stitch out the first four colors - stop- cut fabric away from eggs and rectangle (not stabilizer) - stitch out the rest of the colors and you are done.  Wash away stabilizer."
These were done using the Dimensional Machine Embroidery book which can be found HERE
If you are planning on doing cut work you might want to look into purchasing this fiber remover, called Fiber Etch. It will make it easier to get those little pieces out of those hard to cut places.

This is a fun valentines design
How about this cute valentine envelope post card. Fill it with small gifts or candy for friends or teachers.  Here is Jan's quick tutorial: for the postcard envelope/candy holder, hoop one layer of felt (no stabilizer) then stitch out all except the last stitch.  Put a second piece of felt under the hoop then stitch out the last stitch.  Remove from hoop.  I used pinking shears for the edge and cut two small slits back and from to thread some ribbon through to close.

She made hot pads using a valentine post card
